This Privacy Policy explains how CodeByGreen (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the GeneLink demonstration website (the “Demo”). The GeneLink plugin itself, when you run it on your own site, stores data in your database under your control — this policy is specifically about the public Demo.
Please don’t enter real personal data
The Demo is a public sandbox that is wiped and rebuilt every night. Anything you type or upload is visible to other visitors and is deleted on the next reset. Do not enter real names, contact details, photographs, or any information about living people.
What we collect
- Content you create in the Demo — members, photos, notes, and similar. This is shared, public, and erased nightly.
- Authentication cookies — if you log in with the shared demo accounts, WordPress sets a session cookie so you stay signed in. It is removed when you log out or the session expires.
- Basic server logs — our host may record standard request information (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security and reliability. These are not used to profile you.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing.
- We don’t run advertising or third-party ad trackers on the Demo.
- We don’t ask you to create a real, personal account to explore the Demo.
Cookies
The Demo uses only the cookies WordPress needs to operate — primarily login/session cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising.
Data retention
Content in the Demo is retained only until the next scheduled nightly reset, after which it is permanently deleted. Server logs are kept by our host for a limited period for operational and security purposes.
Children’s privacy
The Demo is not directed at children and should not be used to enter information about any minor.
Your choices
Because the Demo holds no real personal data and resets nightly, there is normally nothing to export or erase. If you believe real personal information was entered and you want it removed before the next reset, contact us and we’ll clear it.
